Relax Achy, Sore or Tight Muscles
Do you feel stiff and find it hard to bend or reach? Are your muscles painful, numb or have tingling sensations? Many athletes, people active in sports and others who work in physically demanding or stressful jobs, like firemen, fishermen, manufacturing employees or office workers, suffer needlessly from these easily-treatable symptoms.

Improve Mobility and Performance
Deep structural massage can reduce or eliminate pain and tightness. You'll notice improvement in your performance, increased range of motion (it's easier to bend, reach and stretch) and improved circulation. You'll feel better after the first massage session. In most cases, after four to six sessions you'll achieve noticeable, sustainable relief. Most insurance companies cover medical massage prescribed by a doctor.

How Deep Structural Massage Helps
After vigorous exercise or physical labor your muscles may feel fatigued, stiff or sore. Massage stretches and lengthens shortened muscles and reduces spasm. Its gentle kneading improves circulation which speeds up the removal of waste products that can make you sore, and brings in the oxygen and nutrients your muscles need to rejuvenate. It can help you resume activity sooner, enhance your performance and help your muscles work more efficiently.

Left untreated, an area of chronic (long term) tension can impair performance and even lead to injury when stressed. Deep structural massage loosens areas of chronic tension and helps relieve new areas of tension before they become chronic.

Causes of Muscle Pain and Tightness
You body often repairs injuries with scar tissue consisting of tightly matted collagen fiber. These fibers tear and retear easily, making healing difficult and causing your movements to be painful or restricted. Appropriate massage techniques can limit scar tissue formation in new injuries and can reduce, or make more pliable, the scar tissue around old injuries. Your muscles will move more freely and with less pain.

Improve Athletic Performance
A warming, energizing massage before an event can help prepare your body and improve your performance. After your event massage is used to calm and relax the body with a goal of easing pain, soreness and reducing inflammation.

Chronic Pain
Chronic pain saps energy and takes an emotional toll. Massage can be an excellent treatment to reduce or eliminate chronic pain. One tool your body uses to protect a painful site is muscle tension. Muscle tension can cause numbness, tingling and more pain. Tight muscles also contribute to reduced circulation which in turn can cause fatigue, soreness and low energy. Massage can reduce muscle tension, it stimulates the release of endorphins, the body's natural pain relievers, and creates a pleasant sensation of relaxation.

Discomfort During Massage
You may experience some discomfort at first, usually this lessens after a few minutes. Always let your massage therapist know if your session is uncomfortable in any way. Your massage therapist can work within your comfort level by using less pressure or changing techniques.
